Day 01 Arrival/ Negombo

Your journey begins in Negombo, a coastal town known for its fishing heritage and lively atmosphere. After arriving at the Bandaranaike International Airport, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Negombo. You can take some rest, explore the town on your own, or join our optional activities such as a boat ride on the lagoon or a visit to the fish market.

Day 02,03 Anuradhapura (Ancient City)
On the second day, we’ll take you to Anuradhapura, the first capital of Sri Lanka and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, you can marvel at the impressive ruins of ancient temples, palaces, and monasteries, and learn about the country’s Buddhist legacy. Some of the must-visit sites in Anuradhapura include the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi tree, Ruwanwelisaya stupa, Abhayagiriya complex, and Isurumuniya rock temple. We’ll spend two nights in Anuradhapura, giving you enough time to explore the city at your own pace.
Day 04,05,06 Jaffna (Nallur Temple, Jaffna Fort, Casuarina beach, Keerimalai Pond, Sangupiddy Bridge, Jaffna City Tour)
Next, we’ll head to Jaffna, the cultural capital of the Northern Province, and a melting pot of Hindu, Christian, and Muslim traditions. Here, you can immerse yourself in the local culture, cuisine, and architecture, and discover the hidden gems of the region. Some of the highlights of Jaffna include the Nallur Kandaswamy temple, Jaffna Fort, Casuarina Beach, Keerimalai Pond, Sangupiddy Bridge, and the colorful markets. We’ll take you on a guided city tour of Jaffna and provide ample time for you to relax and explore on your own.
Day 07,08 Nilaveli (Relax on the Beach, Pigeon Island, Koneswaram Temple, Hot Water Wells)
After the hustle and bustle of Jaffna, it’s time to unwind on the pristine beaches of Nilaveli. Located on the eastern coast of Sri Lanka, Nilaveli is home to some of the most picturesque beaches and coral reefs in the country. You can swim, snorkel, sunbathe, or simply laze around on the soft sand. We’ll also take you on a boat ride to Pigeon Island, a national park that’s famous for its marine biodiversity. On the way back, we’ll visit the Koneswaram temple, a sacred Hindu site, and the hot water wells, known for their therapeutic properties.
Day 09,10 Sigiriya (Sigiriya Rock, Minneriya Safari, Village Tour, Ayurvedic Spa)

We will then head to Sigiriya, which is home to the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back to the 5th century AD. You will also embark on an exciting Minneriya Safari, where you can spot a variety of wildlife, including elephants, leopards, and deer. You will also have the opportunity to experience the rural life of Sri Lanka with a village tour and rejuvenate your senses with an Ayurvedic Spa treatment.

Day 11,12 Kandy (Dambulla Cave Temple, Temple of Tooth, Royal Botanical Gardens, Traditional Dance Show in Kandy, Kandy city tour)
Next, we will head to Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka. You will visit the magnificent Dambulla Cave Temple, which is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in the country. You will also witness the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, which houses the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha. The Royal Botanical Gardens, which is home to over 4000 species of plants, is also a must-visit attraction. In the evening, you will witness a traditional dance show that showcases Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage. You will also explore the city of Kandy, which is surrounded by lush green hills and has a serene lake at its center.
Day 13,14 Bentota (Giragama Tea Factory, Turtles hatchery, Madhu River Boat Ride, Relax on the Beach)

Our next destination is Bentota, a charming coastal town that is known for its golden sandy beaches, water sports, and wildlife. You will visit the Giragama Tea Factory to learn about the tea-making process and indulge in a refreshing cup of Ceylon tea. You will also visit the turtle hatchery, where you can witness baby turtles being hatched and released into the sea. A boat ride along the serene Madhu River is a must-do activity, where you can spot a variety of birds and wildlife. You will also have plenty of time to relax on the beach and soak up the sun.

Day 15 – Departure
On the final day of the tour, we will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight. We hope you had an unforgettable experience exploring the beautiful country of Sri Lanka with Ceylon Gallivanters.
